Me Myself and I | Outsourcing a Dream Coming True?

Outsourcing a Dream Coming True?

Until now I was a multi-tasker

Setting up blogs and websites, writing content, promotion, link building, the lot and quite frankly, I was getting lost in the numerous projects lying around, needing to be finished.

Apart from coming to the conclusion that I really had to start automating a lot of the tedious jobs I was doing manually in order to work more efficiently, I had to face up to the fact that I really could not continue doing everything on my own.

Having a lot of tasks laying around, waiting desperately for my attention made me more nervous when time was going by, so I had to make a decision and make one fast.

Either keep going the way I was, not really with the best results you can imagine or make a complete switch and start recognizing some things were just better to be done by somebody else.

So I started adding up numbers, dividing them by time, my precious time that is, and went ahead looking at the possibilities of outsourcing the things that

Took up most of my time
I hate doing most

Now, maybe this is not the most professional way of going about things, but there is a reason behind doing it this way.

Motivation…. Motivation …. Motivation

I have found that if I have task hanging around in my head, dreading them, knowing that I really need to do them but just can’t find the motivation to actually take the action and get them done, they influence all the other tasks I really need to do.

Well, it seems that now a weight has been lift off my shoulders, the exact moment I went ahead and started contacting people to outsource the little stuff which was holding me back the whole time.

Great sensation and all of a sudden I am even more motivated to continue working on the rest, giving it my best!

So tell me, do you outsource jobs that keep lying around your desk, gathering dust?

I try but the kids just are not old enough yet to do the dishes and I can’t afford a maid.

I have been thinking about this myself lately though. I just need to do a little more building of the brand before I start outsourcing. I am not even done with my design yet.

Sometimes we just have to give up a bit of our control .Keep your eyes and ears open for reccomendations for people you can work with even if not now maybe in the futcher .

          Hey Ramona!
Good to see you around here again :) It is kind of funny really, the more you learn the more you think you can just do it all and the step to giving away some of your own work can be quite daunting. I wouldn´t go as far as saying it is “giving up control” since I still have the control over the end product so to say, but it is great to be able to hand over some of the tedious time consuming tasks or atleast cut them in half!

It is nice isn’t it. I had a simple script that I had tried off and on to create for about a year now. Got it in a week for $50. Kind of makes you feel like an idiot at the same time.

I will be doing more outsourcing soon. I just hit a little cashflow speedbump for a couple of weeks. :)

Stephan …. what can I tell you other than that it really is a dream come true ROFL , just not having to do a tedious job that was holding me back, I completely understand the “feeling like an idiot” part, it sure was worth the money, not just for the work but especially to lift the weight off of my shoulder!

Anyways, set myself a limit on the money to spend and with what I received in return I can get ahead again, wish I had taken the leap before!

I love the idea of out sourcing those boring parts of this wonderful adventure.

I actually contacted a VA that is part of Entre Card but she never got back to me. Her loss!!

I do have a web magician that does all my web stuff now and it is such a relief!!!

I hope you post about your adventures in out sourcing. Thanks.

Unfortunately if I outsource some of my tasks, it would just cost too much, perhaps sometime in the future I might do it.

    1. Mirjam on 26.05.2008 at 08:13 (Reply)

I decided to take the plunge, eventhough it actually does cost me too much, because the jobs I finally decided to outsource were holding me back a lot, influencing the rest of my work, so eventhough it cost me money, it has had many positive side effects money :)

Yes… Outsourcing is the best solution for keep your desk clean rather than dust. But you should get better results from the employer. If not, you should work again on the same project that would be more delayed…

outsourcing is not an option for me just yet.Maybe when I start earning some more money I will try that. But have to agree with what Stephen said in a comment , it can really make you feel stupid if it become successful later. Better late than never I guess

Outsourcing is one of the best things since sliced bread! There are some tasks I know I’m not good at and since I want them done at least as well as the things I do well, I outsource. Sometimes it is more expensive, sometimes I save so much time it really saves me a lot of $. But every time, since I use people I can trust, it results in great quality.

Yes i do outsource some of my job. Its hard for me to finish it myself. Its a good way and it makes my client happy. All they want is to see a completed job.

I always had loads of work and long work hours. I always missed my family and my wonderful son. I am happy to have that dream which is called outsourcing. Luckily I have found perfect persons for this. I am more than happy.
