learning to make money online

Getting Back on Track, Yet Again

So it has been a while that I have last posted, but rest assured I still did not abandon ship!

I have been venturing out doing work off line as well, starting a small catering business since cooking and catering is something that I have been doing for I don’t know how many years, and with some encouragement of my friends I decided to take a step forward and plunge in.

The idea of doing something offline again, away from the home and meeting and dealing with people and clients face to face is a bit strange. So I started wondering if I have been hiding out behind my computer screen. I guess hiding isn’t the real word here but it comes pretty close.

Making this step towards another project and it being offline in the real world out there did make me realize though that my life is lacking balance. Not complaining here at all, after all I choose to start working online and making my money that way, but starting up projects online and trying to generate an income that way does come with some disadvantages.

In the beginning, when still learning about this whole Internet business and all the opportunities out there, I got completely obsessed almost, spending hours and hours at a time behind my computer. Trying to learn all there was to learn, falling for many “next best business opportunities” and I spent my time setting up websites, reading others, downloading e-books and trying to learn all the tricks of the trade.

I remember the first e-book I ever read about affiliate marketing; at a time I was still working a regular job. At that time I was looking out for other ways to earn my living, because I was completely fed up with that job, long commutes and a split work shift left me hardly any time to be with my animals and spend time with my friends. I ended up completely exhausted and unhappy and knew I really had to make a big change.

So I started looking around online to see if there were any ways I could actually make a living on the terms and conditions that I could be happy with. Important to me were being able to spend more time with my animals (I have 3 dogs and 3 horses living with me) so working from the comfort of my home would be a great solution.

Another thing I found important was that I could use my abilities in a more fulfilling way. Being Dutch and having been in contact with many foreigners from a young age and then moving to another country learning yet another language has blessed me with the ability to speak 4 different languages so that surely was something I felt I should use more.

I also have followed different educations, Hotel and Catering Business Management being the main one, which includes many areas that come in handy now, but I have also studied to become an equine massage therapist. I was actually the first in Spain with that title but the timing was way off and the Spanish were laughing in my face whenever I told them what I did. Anyways, that study lead me to study a whole scala of other related therapies and I feel really did enrich me personally.

So why am I sharing this with you now?
Because I feel that my past has really influenced my decision to go into Online Business but also realizing that living a happy life is all about being in balance in anything that you are doing. And quite frankly right now my life is way out of wack.

I am still holding my big dream deep within but in order for it to come out and be fulfilled I really have to change a few things, for one work a lot more efficient and getting things done the way they should be done. I do feel I am getting closer and closer though towards that big dream and I am absolutely 100% positive that I will fulfill it, so for the ones who haven’t read this post “ages” ago, I am giving the link again.

Come to think of it, I should reread that post again too LOL.

Good to see your new post. I love the new title and the graphic! Awesome job!

I am glad that you did not give up your dream. I hope I can speak more languages. That’s one of the best weapon in the business world.

I think balance online and offline life is very important. I got most of my idea on the Internet, and got most job done offline with friends.

    Keep it up!

    Hey Terence!
always a great pleasure to see you around here :D You literally must have entered the blog right after I hit the “change theme” button because the “new design” has only been online for less than an hour!

Glad you like it, a lot of tweaking and stuff will be done but I am pretty happy with the fact that I finally changed the theme LOL

Gotta say it still feels a bit weird, as if I were moving into a new home without having painted the rooms yet.

    See you around!!

    HEY!!

Very nice theme. I see project wonderful is gone. How about ditching Entrecard as well?

Good luck in your catering business.

    Cheers,

    Hey Alex!!
good to see you around again! I bet you are busy with loads of things away from your blog, I visited it a few days ago and it looked as “alive” as mine LOL.

yeah, I made a few changes, thought that it was about time to change the theme and do some cleaning up in the sidebar. I might as well get rid of the entrecard although it doesn´t really bother me that much at present. Will see about that in a few weeks …

So what have you been up to??

Ahh nothing much. Experimenting with niches.. my current niche site is 240 in Google for its main keyword. :) lol. I’m hoping that it’s going to shoot through the pages in a while. rrrrr…

It is second (!!!) in Google with the addition of the word best in front of the main keyword, but that doesn’t make me a bit happier because this “new” keyword is hardly ever searched!

So there you go… Oh, and my wife’s site, that I once showed you, is going to get a bit of offline marketing. She’s going to a maternity convention and we’ve ordered some stuff to be printed to give away.

    Cheers,
    Alex

Come to think of it, I might as well remove it right now, not much use for it since I am not participating in that community anymore LOL …
