When thinking a few months ago about doing a complete makeover of my life, one of the things I wanted to make a habit is consistently do a good deed atleast once a month. I wish I could donate big sums of money to charity on a regular bases but untill that is possible, I want to at least make a small difference, anyway possible.

A few examples?

December 2007 I decided to become a blood donor and donate blood the 3 times max a year.

January 2008 I have filled in my organ donor codicil and advised my parents and loved ones that, in case anything might happen to me, I wish to donate my organs.

This month I was already thinking about what I could do, when I came across the post in TheRatingBlog on Helping Those in Need, where Alan Johnson is taking a great initiative turning a blog contest into a way of helping others. In order to compete in his $1000 contest, he wants bloggers to link to a variety of sites which are helping others by means of people clicking:

The Animal Rescue Site By clicking on their site, you are helping to buy .6 bowls of food for rescued animals
The Breast Cancer Site By clicking on their site, you are helping a woman in need get a free mammogram
The Child Health Site By clicking on their site, you are helping a child in need get healthcare
The Hunger Site By clicking on their site, you are helping to buy food for the hungry
The Literacy Site By clicking on their site, you are helping a child in need attain literacy
The Rainforest Site By clicking on their site, you are helping to protect 11.4 square feet of rainforest

So for this months, I will be adding clicking on these sites to my daily to-do list and I hope that, by reading this post, you will too, or atleast a few times :)

Now, if you think while reading this, that I have posted in order to win the $500 prize, I would like to add that in case I do win first prize, I will donate $100 to a charity and hopefully be able to get the most out of the remainder to be able to keep on doing good for others ;)

Let the clicking begin!
