Dilemma of a BloggerThere has been something on my mind lately that I can’t seem to shake off.

You see, I read quite a few blogs everyday, some through their feed in my mailbox, others because I came across them when dropping entrecards and they caught my eye before heading off to another blog and of course I follow the commentluv links when somebody leaves a comment on this blog.

Many times I see the same names popping up in the comments on other blogs, showing that the bloggers that I like, actually like the same blogs that I do, or feel they are worth commenting on as well.

A few days ago I finally downloaded an e-book I wanted to have for a few weeks already but put off buying it the whole time since I didn’t want to spend my money on more e-books which normally end up in the trash after only skipping through the first pages.

This particular e-book is a real jewel in my opinion though, filled with good tips and I find it a great read, very much like the blog where I downloaded the ebook.

I could have gone and print out all different posts and come up with the same end result, however, downloading the book in it’s whole just seemed to be easier and more compact and I am really glad I did, since now I have a really nicely designed e-book, printed out and it is on my nightstand as a motivational tool I go through before sleeping.

Some of the bloggers I daily read are recommending this particular e-book with their affiliate link, making some money this way. To be honest, I don’t remember which of them has put me on the track of finding the blog that sells the e-book and I don’t even remember who was the first blogger who recommended the e-book.

Even though I would really want to recommend this book to my readers, I feel that recommending it with my affiliate link would be in some way unethical towards the bloggers who have recommended the book in the first place.

I mean, we blog about things we value, we blog about things that we feel can help our readers, we blog about things we have tested and that work for us. And at times we put in affiliate links on products we find worthy of spending money on.

Now, this is where my dilemma comes in:

If I were to put in my affiliate link, would that be ethically towards the bloggers I read daily, who also recommend this particular e-book, or should I point my readers to their recommendation page?

What do you think?
