How to Earn Money From Your Blog

If you have found cheap web hosting and have set up a blog, most likely you are already enjoying the great experience with the two combined. However, in addition to being fun, blogging is a great way to make money. You might have chosen a cheap web hosting account but even cheap web hosting needs to be paid for so any buck you can make from your blog is welcome. Well, if you make some effort, soon you will be able to earn more money from your blog than you need in order to pay for your cheap web hosting plan.

Here is how:

  • Place ads. Ads are the easiest (but not necessarily the most profitable) way to make money from your blog. CPM (also known as Cost Per Impression) ads and CPC (also called Pay Per Click) ads are the two most popular types of ads. CPM ads pay a fixed amount per 1,000 visitors and they are suitable for a blog with a lot of traffic. If your blog is still not a high-traffic one, CPC ads, such as Adsense, could be more feasible, especially if your blog is in a profitable niche. Of course, you can run both CPM and CPC ads and see which one works best for you.
  • Sell stuff. Putting up ads is the easiest way to make money from your blog, as it doesn’t require much work from your part, but if you sell stuff – your own products or if you become an affiliate – this can make you even more money. CPA, or affiliate marketing is currently the most profitable way to monetize a blog but it also requires more time and effort. Still, if you know what you are doing and you manage to pick top selling products, it is possible to make hundreds of dollars a month from a small blog alone. So basically, an Ecommerce blog might be worth thinking about.
  • Try Ecommerce. If you have an ecommerce site, might as well create an ecommerce blog to complement the former. Your blog may not sell directly but you can guide shoppers to your ecommerce site. Have a list of the most wanted products, publish a brief review. Feature some new products. Your readers might be swayed to buying some new stuff and eventually click on the purchase button.
  • Promote yourself. If you are a designer, photographer, programmer, musician, cook, writer, lawyer, accountant, engineer, architect, doctor or any other kind expert who can make money as a freelancer, your blog could be easily turned into your portfolio site. Actually, many blogs have been created with exactly this purpose – to promote the owner and to act as his or her agent. However, if your blog is far from top-notch, this isn’t doing you a favor and in fact will hurt your efforts to get new gigs.

The possibilities to earn money from your blog are endless and the three mentioned above are just the easy ones. Start with these with the help of a cheap web hosting plan and if you notice that you can make money from your blog, you can go on to new ventures. Since many bloggers are making fat income from blogging, anyone with brains, a sharp pen and some stamina can probably do the same.

You need motivation? Think making a living by running a blog. Is it not enough motivation for you? No annoying boss. No exhausting routine like going to and fro between home and office. It is just you and your blog. And your making a good fortune out of it.
