Personal Challenge Study Case – First Day
Today is my first day of the personal challenge announced the other day and like I said before, it is giving me a bit of the jitters to record the progress publicly but I am hoping to show you some good results and what is more important, share what I have been learning from and doing with the One Week Marketing Plan. Who knows, it may just be that “secret golden plan” that will bring you internet riches too!
So far I have been working a few hours now, mainly on creating squidoo lenses. My initial idea was to create double the amount, but over the weekend I have decided to better create 5 lenses to be proud of, and focus all my efforts on link building and trying to get those lenses up in rankings to get organic traffic.
It was a choice between keeping my word, building 10 lenses and spread out the promotional efforts, or changing the challenge a bit, building 5 lenses and bust my ass promoting them more focused.
What would you have done?
Do you think I made the right decision by focusing more and making sure those lenses are ranking well before diverting my efforts onto other lenses, or should I have made the 10 which would have taking more combined work to rank well?
Anyways, even though today I should have been doing the prep work, I actually already got to do that, so this morning I started building the lenses, which are up now but not live yet, but wanted to get them “featured” as soon as possible in order to finish the last tidbits on them as soon as possible (yeah…you better get the One Week Marketing yourself or you´ll miss out on some valuable information Jennifer is giving to build some super duper lenses).
So what else will I be doing today… apart from finishing the lenses, I have also done the groundwork to set up a small site on wordpress, that still needs some work done to contain 10 articles and some sort of review or other idea I have in my mind to promote “the product”.
That leaves me with writing 10 new articles to submit to ezine, doing some more tweaking and setting up a free blog and other accounts to do more promotion tomorrow, just wanted to get this post out to you guys before going back to work. Wish me luck!
A quick reminder if you haven´t signed up for the One Week Marketing Plan yet, you can still get it at 50% of the regular price by buying it through my link before April 1st 12:01 am EST, now that is what I call an offer you shouldn´t resist, especially if you are struggling to make a decent income online!

Great post as usual. I do believe you’re better off doing just 5 lenses at the time and concentrate at what you’re doing with them, for them, at them….whatever them….
If Jennifer had thought 10 lenses was better she would have said so. Don’t be too much in a hurry and skip things. Everything Jennifer says has to be done, I think.
And that’s why it takes me so long to get things done. So far I have only 2 campaigns running in about 4 weeks. I keep going back, adding modules or changing links.
Keep going you’re doing great. You’re inspiring me….and you have no idea what it takes to inspire an old broad like me.lol

LOL @ Joyce, glad to be of some inspiration to you, for me it is great to see your progress up close!
You are probably right, it is just that at times I really need to push myself and well, I´m not really used to “going public” so I kind of want to give it all I can for this one… We´ll see what happens

I’ll be following you, Mirjam, and I’m pulling for your success. I think I like how you did it, going with 5 instead of 10, though, since I still don’t know all that much about Squidoo (except for what I read in that one guest post on my blog), I can’t say which one would have been better. But usually your main thought is the right one.

hey Mitch
thanks for showing interest, if you want to learn more about squidoo, there is a Free Squidoo Guide that will help you set up lenses easier and better and well, if you decide to give it a go, I´d certainly recommend you get the One Week Marketing Plan seeing that I have been using it for a while myself now and it is certainly worth the small investment, I already got several sales because of it, so the initial investment has already paid itself back 3 or 4 times within a few weeks

I think I’ll hold off for now, waiting to see what your lenses look like first. It’s all about time with me, as you can imagine, and I’m just glad that my blog posting doesn’t take up too much time for me.

Don´t think I´ll be showing you my own lenses…. just the stats and hopefully zillion sales ROFL

But I thought that was the purpose of creating lenses, to bring people to your websites, which includes the lenses. Oh come on; I won’t laugh! lol

hehehe, the purpose of me creating lenses is to bring organic traffic to my lenses and websites, but not necessarily bring people from here to my lenses
Small difference but big enough not to publicly share my own affiliate projects

Man,… guess I’ll have to suffice by looking at John’s lenses. Yella belly! lol
