Scrolling Eyes from Hunting Eggs – A Perfect LinkBait Example
I have just spent an hour hunting for Easter Eggs over at Caroline Middlebrook´s blog and just could not help thinking “why did I not come up with something this inventive”. Quite a few of her visitors will be taking part in her little Easter Egg Hunt I am sure, digging through old posts in order to find all eggs, hidden deep in her blog.
When I first saw this competition mentioned and went over to see what all the fuss was about, I did not really feel like entering, I mean… giving away near 30 links to one blog, just like that!? I thought she had gone nuts!
The Egg Hunt did stay on my mind though and the more I thought about it, the more I could just see the geniality in the whole set-up. I mean, think about it, not only does she get a whole lot of links to her site, but she also has many people looking at old content and maybe even writing about it in the future.
Her statistics will be shooting through the roof over this weekend and the near future and I am sure looking forward to seeing her post about these results soon, a lot to learn there.
So why did I decide to go ahead and do participate in this linking festival?
Pretty simple, because I really do feel her blog offers some great information. So in a way, by posting the Easter Egg links here, I am pointing you to some really good content. Another reason is that I feel there are too few female solo bloggers in the “Top Lists” so by posting here I am helping to spread the word on how useful her blog is. And of course, there is a prize to be one for participating, her “Stumbleupon Traffic Course” which looks like a guide to own if you are serious about the traffic coming to your blog through StumbleUpon, I know I am
Anyways, if you are into competitions, like reading good material on blogging and internet marketing and you don´t really have a lot to do this Easter Weekend, you might aswell go over there and have a look!
I will be taking off Easter Weekend, hoping you will enjoy yours!

That is exactly what I though Jim! I am getting a bit “contest blind” to be honest, it seems like all blogs are running contests and if you would participate in most of them, all you would ever post about is yet another blog contest…
This one however I really felt like mentioning because of the high quality content links. After hunting for the eggs I felt that many of the links are worth revisiting to read with more attention, the perfect linkbait example
Thanks for the comment, are you entering aswell?
