Thoughts on the Mysterious Free Report
My favorite Net Entrepreneur Alex asked me a question in his last comment and I thought I´d look into it a bit more.
His comment: “OH… I’m still reading the free report. I’m extending the pleasure as much as I can.
No, seriously. I will write about it. Just as a teaser, despite the fact some, or most, of the stuff there are about things we know, it should be looked at from a different perspective. You and I know those things because were are 9 months around here. What about other people? What about a complete beginner? Does it have any real value for him? I think it does.
If I had read this report during my first month I think I would have been more focused and saved about 3 months of time learning those things in other ways.
Some concepts are going to be hard to grasp for a complete beginner, but I think that it should motivate him to learn more about it. That is the required focus the beginners usually lack.
So, for a teaser, that’s it. I would really recommend it to a beginner or even for someone like us for motivation, focus, and a slap in the face.
What did you think about the report?”
So here are my thoughts on this mysterious free report we are talking about:
LOL I have to admit, I wasn´t able to even finish it, so maybe I should not give my opinion on the actual report. However I can explain why it is that I did not finish it.
First, I saw you all hyped up about it and thought you would put up an interesting and descriptive post about it anyways, saving me time to read it myself
Second, and I already talked a bit behind the scene with you about it, is that I really dislike the way I had to get the report, sitting through a number of videos and sales pages, clicking out of upgrading and buying more, seeing the price from his system going down considerably and leaving me with a really bad feeling about it
Third I read a few chapters but could not shake the feeling it was a waste of time reading since it looked more like a salespitch and some rehashed methods than anything else.
Fourth if what it teaches me is to become as annoying of a salesperson, (granted, very wealthy but even more annoying and sleek) I´d rather throw in the towel now and start making my living washing dishes.
So in short, THAT type of sales and marketing just isn´t my thing.
Did it get me motivated? Well yes, it did, but not in the way you would expect. It got me to look at my own methods and work harder on what lies close the my own heart.
But seriously, making money online is fabulous, making the type of money the big gurus are making could be even better, but I really feel I should be ok with what I am doing.
And like I said before, a salespitch like that to me is not OK. It is too intrusive and in the face to my likings. Will I lose a lot of money because of my train of thought and unwillingness to oversell things? Probably yeah.
But I rather lose that money than lose myself, besides, there are plenty of ways you can make money without tricking people or selling them things they really already know and really don´t need.
You already mentioned it in your post Alex, this world is too full of people trying to sell rehashed crap and taking money from newbies, this mmo is already filled up too much by newbies who go from the best thing to the next best thing, spending tons of money without ever being able to actually make money, because they spend all their time learning yet another new system, and trying out the next best thing these gurus tell us.
So there you have it, my thoughts on the mysterious report Alex and I are talking about. If you have gotten curious, you might want to check out his blog in the near future, since he mentioned in his comment that he will share his thought on it
(LOL Alex, now you have got to go back to writing
)
As for the “value for a beginner” theory, even this blog could have value for beginners, and I am not charging anything nor am I trying to sell anything LOL … ok, granted, I also don´t make the $$$ the mysterious report writer does, but that is a whole different story.
However, I do feel there are other good places where a beginner can learn, without the salescrap and actually getting real support without spending all his savings on buyings systems and books and accidently getting in a membership he forgot to cancel.
That is about for my thoughts, looking forward hearing your thoughts on my thoughts
PS This blog is no longer Do-Follow. I have developped a 0 tolerance for spammy comments and they will be deleted, so save yourself the trouble. However, feel free to comment if you have something interesting to say, you might just get mentioned in a new post (like I just did with Alex) and get your backlink anyways!

Ahh, you’re trying to force me to write… I’m a hard nut to crack!
What was your first ebook ever? Mine was Rich Jerks ebook, and fortunately I used torrent (god bless) to “evaluate” it. Speaking about salespitches..
This one doesn’t have all those shiny videos. A relatively short sales letter, very few “testimonials” everyone likes (not!) and that’s it. Pay only 9.95 and get the book that would tell you why you’re a looser and the one who read the book are winners. Sweet deal right? (use this link to buy: http://www.net-entrepreneur.com/jerk
naa, just kidding.. lol )
Anyways, that was, as I see now, a bunch of unbelievable crap. Yes, he is describing in a very general way how to make money online. But, what the f$%k (WTF?!) It was like, create an ebook, sell it to people, use emotional stimuli, and then use my hosting, use my graphics studio, use my templates, use my whatever it was back then…. that’s, my dear, what I call shit.
Complete beginner would’ve bought that. His sales technique is great. The price is great. But, after reading it the poor beginner would find himself with only a vague idea of what to do next. And, after sobering up, he’d think he was scammed. And thing that every internet marketer is a scamming bastard.
The aforementioned (that word shouldn’t be used on blogs, according to many “gurus” out there “too complicated to understand”. Screw you, I say. -editor’s note) report doesn’t screw with you. It offers really hard core information.
The sales pages… oh, the sales pages…. I’ve already told you this in the past: these should be lesson 1 in this report. Think about the masses. Don’t think about the individual. Yes, one could feel like he’s being lured. But in high volumes who cares. We’re speaking about volumes right? otherwise I would’ve been pitching and marketing to Israelis and you would’ve been to Spaniards. But, hey, this is no coincidence that we’re using English, filtering our google data to the US, etc..
But, hey, this is my opinion. For me, a hit on my site is just that. He is not my friend. My autoresponder talks to him, my automated shopping-cart takes his order, my server stores his product to download. All I see (hope to see) are sales percentages.
Should I put something on my blog it would’ve been a different matter. But a business site? No, Mirjam, this is business. Getting someone to buy your stuff in a creative way is the name of the game.
Cheers,
Alex

hey Alex
ROFL well, nut seems to be cracked, you did write after all hahaha
anyways, first book I got, don´t remember how anymore was by Rosalind Gardner, don´t even remember whether I finished reading all of it either, but I do remember it gave me the feeling this whole internet marketing biz was something to look into, and here I am still to this day.
I did read the rich jerk aswell (guys, go over to the link alex put to get it ROFL) I think it was the start of noticing just how things were done to trick people into getting to sell more of his stuff (by giving away “free” websites and promoting his shit) It was also the “guy” who showed me other things, although I don´t think it was his intention, like getting people to buy hosting (overprized hosting that is) through his affiliate link and covering it up because of the free website they were getting.
Anyways, moving on from the rich jerk.
I still believe there are many ways leading to Rome and many ways to make money online. Some are helpful to other people and actually provide a good product (either information or a real product ) and some use ways to sell rehashed stuff. There are also multiple ways to get people to buy things, and I guess it is up to the person trying to sell, which way to go.
Of course this is business, but there are ways and ways to go about it.
“But in high volumes who cares.” Well… I care. Which is why I wouldn´t sell stuff I wouldn´t want to use myself and which is why I don´t want to lure people.
You see Alex, there are salespages and salespages, there are products and products and there are ways and ways, adding all the option together and chosing a combination is what not only will define the money you will make down the line, but it will also define the kind of person you are.
I do try to choose quality over quantity, I do try to choose sincerity over luring people, probably that makes me a shit business woman, who cares? I care!
I would not feel comfortable with myself, fighting against “crap” publicly (on my blog for example) and then anonimously push people to actually buy that crap because it is business, and use 4 sequent salespages going from $999 to $99 by not taking the offer in the first place.
If the final price a product can be sold at a price of say is $99, trying to sell it 10 times more expensive, I don´t know, I just know that I PERSONALLY, would not be something I could be proud of.
Don´t get me wrong, I do want to sell as well, but not to the extend where I feel uncomfortable by the way I am selling it, nor by the product I am trying to push.
LOL, maybe we should just agree to disagree and see where we are at in a year or so, get together over a good glass of wine and discuss things in person

Mirjam:
To be honest, I still have no clue about that free report. Who creates the report? I don’t even want to know.
All I know is that there is no free lunch. No matter how many ebooks you read, marketing meetings you attend, membership you pay for it, you need to take action to generate the cash flow.
Don’t waste time on reading and learning tips and tricks before taking action. Take action and correct the mistakes while on your way to success. You will learn as you go.
Time is money!
If you have a great idea, you need to take action and go for it before someone be ahead of you. Write your own history book to show people you were once a beginner and now you are the success one.
Personally, I am really interested in reading your progress on your journey that motivates me. That drags me back to your blog. So keep it up! I am really curious about your second journey.
By the way, I don’t think you need to declare that your blog is no longer a no-follow blog. No one really care about it. You are writing a blog for those people who want to read, but not for those people who want link love.

Hey Terence
I am talking about the book that Alex talks about in his blog, the “hard copy ebook” by mike filsame LOL but not as much on his book, rather on what it took to finally get to the last page of all his salespitches trying to sell his system having you go through 3 or 4 salespages, videos and the lot.
my rant isn´t about the free book perse, but about the very aggresive sales technique he uses.
I no longer read ebooks, atleast not just because they are offered, but went on to creation of several websites, all differently focussed with different types of monetization in mind. Whenever I do feel I run into a problem i try to find it online and that works pretty well, no reason to keep reading for days LOL.
Besides, the affiliate program I signed up before is turning out to be really helpful with some very knowledgeable people who can offer instant support when I don´t get something right. And that is for free LOL
Terence, the no longer dofollow declaration, I think it was more out of frustration, it won´t be read anyways by those it is directed to LOL but anyways, thought I´d make it public to atleast be able to refer to it in the future.
I am still far from writing my own success story, there still are periods where money is running out, but I am set on not giving up. I know I can do it, and little by little I am eliminating procrastination from my life, getting more productive and atrackting more traffic through search engine to my sites. But atleast I think I am finally on the right track, doing it the productive way.
And I am looking at other areas in my life as well, working just online, no matter how I love doing it, just isn´t the healthiest option for me right now so I am starting to engage in two smaller offline ventures as well, just to see more people other than online contacts.
Anyways, I will keep using this blog as my reference point, my reality check and keep writing about my journey. Maybe in future telling more about my online projects and websites, so I am glad to know you will keep an eye on me, highly appreciated, thanks my friend!

Mirjam, what you should really do is to turn you recent comments and top commentators widgets off. This one also attracts all kinds of flies. That’s what I did. Now my blog doesn’t offer any kind of link unless I want to give it to someone.
@Vehicle Shipping (if you’re even going to visit this blog again) – What did you think this link was going to do for you, raise you PR? Think again, this is not even a related site.. noob….

Alex, thought of that as well, for now I´ll leave it there, just marking spam comments as spam hopefully does the trick as well.
ROFL because your comment at vehicle shipping

haha! well this free reports are weird – i am an SEO and one time i was in a forum with many other seos and they all gave me the possibility to get this one report ONE TIME FOR FREE (other guys would have to pay a fee) and i took it and read it – and it was rubbish. i think the only money such guys ofen make, is the money they make from sharing their “wisedom” by selling it. and not from their great methods.

Like I said to Alex, there are many ways to make money online, it is all about personal choices and values to decide what feels right for one to use.
